To the west of Meigs Point at Hammonasset State Park are over two miles of glorious, open beaches called Middle Beach and West Beach. West Beach leads all the way to the Hammonasset River.
Here’s a video from an early morning walk on West Beach in April. Pets are allowed on the beach in the winter months.
These are just some of the shells Teah and I found this day:
We found some seaweed, too!
Views from the end of West Beach from the breakwater:
To the north of this area is another marsh filled with amazing birds, plants, and wildlife.
After our walk, we spotted an Osprey Nest with solar panels and a camera attached and realized it’s a bird cam! You can view the Osprey nest live here!! Scroll down a bit on the page to watch these amazing birds live!!
Until next time… stay safe.
